About Password Protect PDF
Add a real password to a PDF, or remove one you already know — genuine AES-256 encryption, processed entirely in your browser using an open-source library. Nothing is uploaded, and there's no way to recover a forgotten password since it's never sent anywhere.

Common questions
Is this real encryption, or just a basic lock?
Real AES-256 encryption — the same standard widely used for securing sensitive data, not a superficial restriction an ordinary PDF reader could bypass.
What happens if I forget the password I set?
There's no way to recover it. The password is never sent anywhere or stored by Foliovex, so forgetting it means the file is genuinely locked — the same as it would be with any real encryption, anywhere.
