No. Files are read and processed locally using JavaScript. They never leave your device, which also means they're never stored on a server, even briefly.
Can I sign or edit a PDF for free?
Yes — the built-in PDF editor lets you whiteout or redact content, highlight, add text and shapes, draw freehand, and place a signature you draw once and reuse, all page by page, entirely in your browser.
Can I add comments to a PDF for free?
Yes — the Comment tool adds real PDF comments, not just a mark on the page. They show up in the Comments panel of Acrobat, Bluebeam, and similar software, the same as comments added in those programs directly.
Can I password protect a PDF for free?
Yes. The Password Protect tool adds or removes real AES-256 encryption on a PDF, processed entirely on your device — your password and file are never sent anywhere.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes — every tool works on modern mobile browsers, since the processing is just JavaScript running on your device rather than a native app.
What about large files?
Since your own device does the work rather than a shared server, performance depends on your hardware. Most everyday PDFs process in a second or two; very large files (100+ MB) may take longer.
